Here in Canada it takes for ever and even when the payments start they are never on time and your lucky if it is the full amount. You end up waiting and calling the government trying to understand what the hell is going on.. And they wonder why women are so angry???

Some states are more aggressive than others, but once the court orders the payments, the employer is notified quickly. I would give it 30 days. If no payment received call and then follow up with a letter to the courts.

Depending on the state you could be waiting a long time. A friend of mine even almost went to jail over the state not sending his payments to his baby's mother. Plus if he misses payments you may get screwed too.

some times its a month or two. and more when he suddenly 'gets laid off' or 'fired' from his job. just call your case worker weekly if it makes you feel better (i would) and ask what the status is of the payment.
some links that may help with other questions. just click on your state and find the section you need.

I would give it at least 2 pay periods. If you haven't seen anything by then, you need to follow up on it.
