Many of the other answerers believe you are referring Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, of the Red Sox with a $52 million posting fee. Perhaps you mean Kei Igawa, another Japanese pitcher, who signed with the Yankees for $20million, along with a $26million posting fee. As far as I know, the only two Chinese pitchers in the MLB are from Taiwan, Chien-ming Wang, 19- winner for the Yanks, and Hong-Chih Kuo, lefty fireballer for the Dodgers.

you are referring to matsuzaka, a japanese player. there are however a handful of taiwanese players already in the league (chien mien wang, hong chi kuo, etc), but taiwan thinks it is independent of china since the 1940s.
wang nearly won the cy young award for the yankees last year. he'll get his 31 million one day =)

He's not Chinese, he's Japanese. It wasn't 31 million, it was 51 million. And it wasn't New York, it was Boston. Other than that you're right!!

well matsuzaka is the main one but hes going to the redsox, the guy your talking about is kei igawa. he is the one going to the Yankees. However according to most scouts, you shouldn't get your hopes up b/c he's only projected to win like 12 games with a 4.5 era whereas mastsuzaka is projected to win like 16 games with a low to mid three era.

Wang nearly won the Cy Young? If it weren't for the fact that Santana received EVERY first-place vote, then yeah, I guess you could say he nearly won.
