Bacteria don't jump, they're not going to jump onto the food from a bare sole any more than from a shoe sole, nor are they any more likely to fly onto the table from the bare skin of a bare foot than from the exposed skin when you're wearing sandals. And only some footwear protects against dropped knives, if you're wearing flipflops you'd really have to get lucky if it hit the little strap!
Many people go barefoot in their own homes, including in the kitchen.

I, for the life of me, can't think of a single reason why you shouldn't cook barefoot. I live my life barefoot all the time and I love to cook on the weekends when I have time and it's never been an issue for me.

Gosh, I sincerely hope not. I raised my children barefoot, and they didn't die or even get sick from food poisoning. My daughter and I still go barefooted while in the house, and both of us are disgustingly healthy.

the only serious issue i can think of would be accidentally dropping a sharp knife on your foot! (if thats not a genuine health risk- i can't imagine what is!)
otherwise- only if u are cooking with your feet would there be problems!
