The one I thing I believe should be a universal law is the castration of sex criminals. None of this chemical stuff either. Cut it off. If you use it as a weapon then it shall be taken from you.
The rest of the Sharia laws are a tad harsh on women. Arabian Islam seeks to dehumanize and enslave women. Why else put them in black in that climate?
BTW I am a Muslim woman.
The women of India are so beautiful with their sensual walks and flowing clothes, the equally modest but flowing sari. Their saris ad colour to the world on a grey monsoony day. Indian women, when they are beautiful, with that hair, that skin, those eyes, are the most riveting on the planet. But so are the men!
I am married to an Indian man. He lives in KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). This gives me a good insight into both cultures. I can only see chaos from such a thing. And it would certainly eliminate the neighbourliness between people, regardless of religion, and only create hatred.
Why take something dry like Sharia Law to a rich fertile country, the seat of the world's spirituality, unless you wish to kill it. The basic natures of both peoples is hot and fiery. Only death could come of such a thing.
In India, as in Canada, democracy is being sorely compromised and will soon be ill. Guard it.

I wouldn't agree with it. The punishment should fit the crime but Saudi is a bit harsh in some respects. Capital punishment should be for the guilty not the suspected...

Do you only want the punishments, or would you also take the enforcement that goes with them? Do you want bands of religious police roaming the streets and snatching people to beat them for such reasons as being an unmarried couple walking together in public?

It would be disastrous because India is a country that is trying to be progressive and move forward in human rights. Not backwards to the middle ages. It will never happen. India is a democracy.

We wouldn't be able to see the beautiful women of India because they would be covered up with burkas.
