If the dress companies had to wait for a virgin to sell a white dress to they would go out of business.

Oh..the colour of the dress should be the last of any ones concern at a wedding. I have a bigger problem with people who break every vow they recited within a couple of years of getting hitched. This is a bigger concern. The wedding is just an hour out of a very long life together. Its no big deal. Its the sentiment behind the tradition that is important. Happily married for 13 years (together 18) and why is it really any of your concern who is and isn't a virgin?? Surely this is just a matter for the people concerned and The Maker. I think you sound too concerned with the trivial, when you could be putting your good brain to use actually helping people, instead of wasting it being judgemental. this I see as more of a sin. and for the record, some others are right. White has only been a 'fashion' in wedding attire for the past 150 years or so. A white wedding dress was seen more as a statement of wealth and prosperity, most women married in their 'sunday best' (probably grey, as a symbol of humbleness) and white, esp lace, showed the family had money, whcih was attractive to the prospective grooms family. Blue has always been a symbol of purity in the Christian church. This is why Mother Mary is always depicted wearing blue robes and women wear a blue token (ribbon or broach or garter) on their wedding day. people sometimes dont like the truth when is conflicts with their beliefs that they hold dear.

Nearly all women often wonder what will be the right attire for the work environment. It depends on several things, as well as your line of work, your business culture, and your audience. There are a great number of options for you if you want to appear stylish and professional simultaneously. It is all about knowing how to obtain the right look and more based on outfits that are budget friendly. Can certainly business clothing can effortlessly incorporate the latest fashion trends. You will find different types of business attire which you can use at the workplace.
The main kinds of dress codes are Expert Dress and Business Informal. The former type is traditional whereas the second category is actually nothing but a more relaxed edition of the business dress. The primary factors that you should focus on whilst shopping for business clothes are whether or not they are comfortable and visible. Your dress should always be good work atmosphere.

I know some girls and women who think you're still a virgin if you just didn't enjoy it.
Some women even wear white for their third wedding. For many, it's just a fashion choice, not a statement of purity.
Maybe we should go back to the old days of having the bridegroom run around the marketplace after his wedding night, waving a bloody sheet to prove his wife was a virgin.
Or maybe the government can require proof of virginity before issuing a marriage license.
Of course, this is clearly a sexist issue, since a man's virginity is pretty much unverifiable. To be fair about it, boys should be strapped into male chastity belts from birth until their wedding night. Or would a large piercing of some kind suffice?

Well, I was watching a show the other day, and they explained that wearing white for weddings had NOTHING to do with purity. And that the religious groups decided to use purity symbolized by the color white based on the fact that brides used it for weddings. So it is something that was taken, and now you are trying to use it the other way around????

Sweetness, if we counted all the Ladies for the last 1600 years who've been married in white who've not been virgins I'd lose track rather quickly. It's only been in the last couple hundred years, and in the upper classes, that women need to be virgin. Get off your high horse.
White may stand for purity but it got washed by red a long time ago. Now stop poking the Otter or I'll bite you.

i think it's sad that very few people wanna wait for marriage for sex these days. i think these people are missing out on what makes both sex and marriage truly special..
but having said that, it's not my job to judge or interfear with other people's weddings.. if non-virgins wanna wear a white dress, for whatever reason, then good for them. their wedding day is supposed to be a happy occasion, and if pretending to be a virgin makes them happy, then i wish them the best of luck..

I say stop scratching your head over the white dress non-virgin situation. Honey we're in a new millennium. No one cares! I know I don't! Sh!t women walk down the isle in white wedding dresses with their children on the sidelines! Let it go! Tradition? What's that? People go to wedding with biker clothes on. They don't care! Don't sweat the madness honey! It will just stress you out!

And this question belongs in Etiquette not in LGBT.
White also stands for COMPLETE (as in the seven rays of colour that make white light) it also stands for A NEW START (as in a blank sheet).
How many brides look to complete themselves by starting a new life with their husband?
We all have a history, not a one of us is PURE.
