I found on this site - and on others - that most people would welcome executions. Since we live in a democratic society, I don't know why the government is not taking any notice of what the majority of people want. It should be reinstated and perhaps that would deter other would-be psychos.

Capital punishement would not and I reapeat would not have prevented the murder of that or any child. IT does not prevent violence and in fact, the violent need for revenge is the attitude in society that promotes that violence. it is at the root, that we must stop violence. capital punishment is the one of the roots.
In a imperfect system it is murder to justify killing one innocent life for the sole purpose of revenge and money. If you agree that its ok if a few innocent men are killed to get the ones who are not for the sole purpose of vengence witch is only Gods then you are just as evil as the man who kills a child.
Join the club of murderers.
Capital punishment is what nazis and commies do. not what a free open peacfull society does.
It is very hard to put intelect before emotion but when it comes to life and death we must or we are playing God.

What child and what country do you live in? The death penalty is necessary- just look at that pig farmer in Canada that chopped up all those women-49 of them. Now the Canadians will be feeding this animal for another 30 to 40 years until he dies. Many many more examples could be listed. There must be a high standard of guilt and then apeals of no more than one year or two. Then good bye.

I'm all for it. An eye for an eye. Once they took the death penalty away things kept getting worse and worse. And you get to send your tax dollars to feed, cloth and shelter these animals. The homeless have it worse. But the murderers and killers get heat and air conditioning. What is that all about? Some how I think its way backwards. Bring it back. Then maybe people will think twice about doing things. It wasn't as crazy when it was in place. Bring it back. And yesterday wouldn't be too soon to have done it.

It's because of the morons that don't want capital punishment, that we have all these problems in our society.
if you kill someone, they let you sit in jail and spend our tax money keeping you alive for the next 20 years before you are executed, if you wind up being executed.
Do it the same way they did it with Saddam, you kill someone, you get a trial, and within 30 days, you are executed.
watch the crime rate go down, but the criminals know they won't be executed for 20 years and life in prison for them, is not any different than living at home, so why do they care.

I do.
If guilty, i hope that uncle spends the rest of his life in misery. Neverthelss, it is not up to us to take a life.
What difference do i have from a murderer that decided to take someone's life if i support death penalty?
Two wrong's don't make a right.
Also, if we always went with what the majority thinks, we would still be stoning prostitutes and locking up childreen in prisons for theft..

Killing him won't undo what he did.
Personally I prefer the idea of life
WITHOUT POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE.
Let him live a long long time in prison, knowing he will NEVER be free.
Death sentences, as well as being a problem in cases of wrongful conviction, are an easy way out for others.
Make them live with their guilt, and with other prisoners knowing what they did.
I'm sure there a companies who could contract some backbreaking work to prisons too, help defray the costs of bunk and board.

Capital punishment is the only answer, if you murder or rape anyone then in my view you get a needle in your arm it's that dam simple, if we really want to curb crime in this country then it's time we start putting these criminals down, keeping them alive only pleases the bleeding hearts in this country.

I think that we should bring back capital punishment and let the judges decide if a person should live or die

i think we should keep capital punishment, if u think about it, criminals will just say, well, if we get caught, we won't die. do u realize that in other countries, people get their arm chopped off for stealing, do u think that people steal that much there? absolutely not! so, i think we should keep capital punishment for the fact that less ppl will die because of the fear of criminal if they know if they get caught they could die
