Most vertibrates can swim (even if reluctantly), wallabies included. Although they rarely have to. Its probably not the most dignified swimmer though.
Evolutionaly speaking, even animals in arid enviroments would not last long without this basic ability.

Yes they can. Kangaroos and wallabies swim well if they need to. On land, they move both their back legs together but in the water they move them independently to get better propulsion. I have seen kangaroos swimming across a creek near my house.

I don't think so.. I lived on a farm in southern Aussie for a few years and saw lots of wallabies, but I never saw one near/ in our creek.

no they cant, i saw a proggrame where they climb trees in floods and have to be rescued .
