I was recently walking down a street and i saw a bum, what should i have done?

What i did was point and laugh because he shouldn't have been so lazy at school.

Unfortunaly we all think of bums as lazy and useless. What we don't know is how they became bums to begin with. I met a man who was a broker on the stock exchange at one time and the company he worked for downsized without warning and let him go with only 10 minutes to clean out his desk. he tried to get hired on by others but no one was hiring. With no other skills he eventually went through all his savings and lost everything waiting for another job possibility. He lives on the streets as a depressed broken man waiting for death to come visit. The majority of the homeless didn't choose to be homeless. Just think, it could happen to anyone at anytime without warning. Pointing and laughing at him just made him feel his pain all the more. You might have met a man of importance at one time without knowing it. Proud men will not ask for help either. My suggestion is to pray for him and next time you meet him don't give him money, but take him accross the street for a sandwhich and some converstaion. You might learn something about the person.

That's whats wrong with society. The homeless person is lazy. Perhaps they have a mental disorder, perhaps they are down on their luck. They are people, and as such, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. You are apparently a braty rich kid who's never wanted for anything in your life. Or, a very cold and heartless person.
