I am planning on making a spaghetti dinner for my girlfriend tonight. I am looking for a side dish to serve with the spaghetti besides the garlic bread. Any ideas? I will be shopping for the meal this afternoon.

Caesar salad is always good with Italian meals. If you like Caesar dressing get Kens Steakhouse creamy Ceasar. It is the BEST.

I can't remember when I ate a side dish with spaghetti. I don't think you need one to tell you the truth. Just make sure the spaghetti and bread sticks/Texas toast taste great. You can throw in a Caesar salad as a side dish or an appetizer. You should make her desert if you have time (something that she likes off course). If she is anything like the rest of the women in the world she will appreciate you putting in the time to cook her a Valentine's Day dinner. Hope this helps a little.

I agree that salad is a great accompanyment. Another very cool and easy thing you can do is to get the shredded Parmesan cheese (not the shaker kind, but the real kind in small strips). On a cookie sheet, put some parchment paper and sprinkle a few circles of it and put it in a hot oven for a few minutes-until they get golden brown. Once they cool, they'll peel right off the paper, and you'll have parmesan crisps. Oh, they're beautiful and look very special, but cost only a little bit and are super easy to make.

Good luck on your dinner! Happy Valentine's Day!
