For those of you who are saying I'm pointing to ONE snowstorm, etc. If you want ACTUAL science, take a look at this site by an actual scientist:

RJM - and yet, the hottest day on record in January for DC was on 1/26/1950 when it was 80 degrees.

For the record, the hottest day in my neck of the woods was recorded July 11, 1888.

There is climate change, yes. But the point is, there always HAS been climate change. This is nothing new. Some scientists believe that the DINOS were wiped out by global warming.

Man may contribute, but compare this: My SUV vs. the sun. Which do you think contributes more to global warming?

Good stuff! And you Global Warming nuts: Scientists can't predict the weather next week let alone 100 years from now. I also have the solution to global warming. Find out what warmed us out of the last ice age. You know, before we had cars. Then you too, might when a Nobel Prize!

You have the audacity to insinuate Al Gore is stupid when you can't even spell a third grade word like science? In the seventies very few people were aware of climate change and no one is disagreeing about how long climate change has been going on. Each time it happens, land disappears and millions of people die along with entire species. This time we have contributed to it greatly with our factories, gas guzzling vehicles and the destruction of animals along with the rain forrests. Not only does Gore's explanation of climate change not look stupid, it has been happening and you are too stupid to realize it!

You know what sounds silly? Looking out my window and determining the average temperature of the earth over the past 150 years by looking at my thermometer in the backyard. You can disagree about the cause, after all, there is still a Flat Earth Society and people who believe no one ever landed on the moon, but it is warming. And Al Gore will do just fine with the other 98% of scientists who agree with him that science is not the same thing as politics.

Man, some of you guys are friggin' brainiacs. I'll type slow for you.

Global warming doesn't mean that the entire world is now the Gobi desert (that's a hot place). Global warming means that, on average, the temperature of the planet is rising, leading to the melting of polar ice caps. When these ice caps, which are on land, melt into water, that water will raise the level of the worlds oceans, leaving several million people without homes.

Just because there is a winter storm in winter, it doesn't mean that global warming doesn't exist. In fact, a large conference of the world's best climatologists just released findings that global warming is a man-made phenomenon:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,249659,00.html
(notice it's faux news, so the lemmings will believe it)
George W. Bush himself mentioned the need to combat climate change in his latest state of the union speech:
http://www.ucsusa.org/news/positions/president-bushs-2007-SotU.html#Clean_Energy

So I guess my question is: are you the last one? Have you thought about joining the flat earth society?

IT SNOWED IN MALIBU CA LAST MONTH! But I'm sure that Gore will insist that somehow, global warming somewhere else in the world made it snow at the beach in Southern CA! I'll be honest with everybody.....cleaner air, cars that give off less exhaust, and tougher environmental laws couldn't possibly be a bad thing. But I find it hard to believe that this is the first time in Earth's 4 billion year history that the temperature has risen a little bit! Good thing liberals weren't around when the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago, or when the last ice age hit 10,000 years ago! They might blame it on greenhouse gases caused by dinosaur farts and cavemen campfires!

I'm quite enjoying reading all the answers to your question. I find it quite ironic that all the supporters of "Global Warming" dispute the physical evidence of 8 ft of snow & freezing temperatures, while their argument is based on physical evidence of hotter temperatures & rising sea levels. Maybe we should all step back & worry about things that really matter & that we can change, like, oh I don't know... a war in Iraq. Maybe you've heard of it, more Americans have been killed there than by climate change, or how about the ten of thousands of human beings murdered or starving to death everyday in third world countries. Maybe Al Gore should use his propaganda machine to help these people.
One more thing, the Genius who said Climate & weather are not the same should read before they write. Climate is simply a term used to describe the weather over a longer period of time; you can't have one without the other.

Keep stirring that pot my friend!

why is it that you don't do any research on the subject before you go slamming people for telling the truth? Geeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz!

It's happening and it has been happening. Al Gore just brought it forward. It is a big concern. Last year was the hottest year in history. Just because he is a Dem., is that why you are bashing the findings of scientist that studied this? If GWB put out this information would you have accepted it better? How many lies are you going to believe. Myself, I'm tired of the Government thinking we as citizens don't know squat. Do the research first, before you give us a weather report for one day. Yawn...........................

Funny you should use the word stupid in your question. People who don't believe in global warming have somehow come to think its a liberal issue or even more bizarre that its a religious issue. Amazing that you think becaue we finally had some snow and cold weather that global warming has been eradicated. I am a repub, retired cop, VN veteran, Am legion, VFW member, white, middle class, Christian...and I can see that global warming is due to fossil fuel pollution levels. The climate of the US has changed remarkably in my lifetime and its impossible for me to deny that. I am pretty far to right but unlike you I am not stupid. Your very question outs you as a moron. Geo W. Bush believes that global warming is occurring. Al Gore is a phony and an idiot but you could serve as his aide to idiocy. hey it rains once a year in the desert, wonder why anyone would still believe its a desert?

Just stupid enough to get all the speaking engagements he wants, big bucks from his books and movie, nomination for the Nobel prize, nominated for an acadamy award.
Don't we all wish we could look that stupid.

For all you people that do not understand the effects of global warming - EVIDENCE OF GLOBAL WARMING IS THE OCCURENCE UNSTABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS IN AREAS WHERE THIS TYPE OF WEATHER IS UNHEARD OF.
