Grenwhich Mean Time. It,s the beginning point for time zones and it's located in Grenwhich, England. I think because they came up with the time zones. Central America has 2 or 3 time zones. Look on a political world atlas of the entire earth. It usually has the location of the time lines. I'm not sure if I spelled Grenwhich correctly.

GMT is greenwich mean time. It is the standard that all clocks of the world are judged by. Everyone live in a timezone. Britain and Portugal reside within this timezone. All other time zones will be some number of hours offset from that timezone. In Central America you are probably around -2 to -3 hours from GMT. If you were -3, for example, then when it is 12:00 in London, it would be only be 9:00 where you are.
