I don't know that this statement is true. Sounds more like stereotyping to me.

I will ask this though...if you see a well dressed black man, are you more willing to speak to him? That is what black people haven't figured out. Black people sit around and watch music videos where a black rapper is wearing baggy pants, chains around his neck, tattoos all over his body and rapping about being a gangster. Then the black person dresses like the rapper on TV. What white people associate this with is the black rapper on TV rapping about gangs and drugs. And it's not just a black thing anymore. More and more you are starting to see other nationalities dressing like "gangsta rappers".
It's not that black people are not afraid of white people, it's that some black people are too prideful and ignorant to understand the position they are putting themselves into. If I dress like a "gangsta" I should expect to be looked at like one. Going back to my first question, if you present yourself in a respectable manner then no one has reason to fear. Respect yourself first, then others will follow suit.

i am sure if you could find that statisitcs about crime you would see that very seldom is a black man held up by a white man.
in canada as soon as i hear the word shooting on television news i can be about 89 % sure that when i look at the screen there will be a black person involved in the shooting. there will not be a white person except as yet another incocent bi stander.
i know blacks will come read this and freak but the truth is just that truth. in 1970 in canada the number of gun crimes in all of canada that involved shooting of a person was less then 28 in all of the country . the number of blacks as a % was very low most school children would say they had only seen them on television . now in the cities in canada blacks are out numbering the whites and shootings are in the news almost daily now.
so there is your answer . whites have a jusitfiable fear of blacks while blacks need have no fear of whites.

Perhaps it's not the black people they are afraid of but of some of the neighborhoods black people live in. Many black people live in poor neighborhoods where the crime rate is very high. And it's this high crime rate that scares the white people.
Of course, high crime rate is scary for anybody. But since black people live there, they know better how to cope. And this makes it less scary for them than for the outsiders.

Because unfortunately in the past, many came from poorer neighborhoods so you not only had racial stigmas but pverty verses working class and higher . Nowdays its kind of stupid and actually subjective to the people themselves. I could care what color you are- I'll be scared of you or wary of you if you look scary! I do think its the same for people of all colors too- Kind of a pushbutton question-PS My initial answer was based on what I precieve to be stupid past predjudices of others-I wasn;t raised like that.

Maybe whites subconsciously harbor guilt for the past and present oppression of blacks which manifests into fear.
