I agree with Wrigley being overrated! You could get shot in Chicago by saying that in the wrong areas.
I say the answer is Cincinnati. I was not impressed. The view of the river is nice, but the stadium itself has no personality. I sat in the first row of the mid level over third base, and the left field corner was cut out of my view! From the first row higher up! The upper deck is like being on Everest. It is that high and steep. The smokestacks going off after homeruns are lame. The concessions are way overpriced. Parking is all over the board. One garage was 25, the one right next was 6?? What?
In the AL - Fenway Park. It was so cramped in there. It is like Wrigley. Full of history, but in major need of being replaced. The seats are pointed at weird angles and too close to each other.
And I don't know if anyone rates it at all, but the Twinkiedome in Minnesota is a horrible place to watch a game. All indoor exclusive stadiums are. Tampa was a lame stadium too.

no wrigley bashing here. i love wrigley. going to wrigley is how going to a ball game should be. it's right in the middle of a nice neighborhood in the northside. people are all walking up from all different directions. it's not buried in a gigantic parking lot a lot of stadiums are. every game at wrigley is a party. clark street is where it's at. yea it's old but it's baseball.
the southside has the worst park in baseball. the cell or comiskey or whatever you call it is horrible. viewing is bad, it's too big. the design is the poorest of any new stadium. it's way too big, they've since closed down multiple sections since it was built.
and the only reason i think the sox have higher ticket sales than the tigers is this...........chicago is a tourist town, detroit is not. many folks visiting chicago want to see the cubs, but tickets are sold out and they don't like the idea of using a street scalper or paying the inflated prices of the nearby ticket brokers. so they take the redline to the cell instead, buy a ticket at the gate and watch chicago's other team. detroit has to merely rely on the metro detroit residents to attend the games. if they moved the norht american international auto show to the summer when the tigers were on a 10 day homestand, that would greatly help ticket sales, but now that the tigers are the defending AL champs, i think ticket sales will go up.

Of the 20 stadiums I've been to, the most overrated is Yankee Stadium. The 1970s renovation just made it look like a cookie cutter stadium, like Vets, Riverfront, Old Busch... but, at least at those places you could walk around a little. When I was at Yankee Stadium, each section was barricaded so you could not walk around. I think that is one of the greatest aspecs of going to a ballgame - being able to watch the game from many different vantage points.
And then there's the price of food... the one stadium I didn't eat a hot dog or have a beer.
Now, I have to mention, Yankee stadium is not the worst stadium I've been to. I know this part really won't answer the question as being "overrated", but the worst stadium I've been to, by far, Is the stadium in Miami (whatever they call it now). The seating arrangements would be good for football, but it is really bad for baseball. I remember sitting close to 1B, towards the outfield, and having a great view of what would be the 50 yard line... straight on the line. Turning to see home plate in a hard, plastic chair for a couple hours is not a great feeling.

First, we have to define overrated. Overrated means that people rate it HIGHER than it should be. This means the Twinkiedome and all the dome parks are out- because they're universally despised.
Fenway is entirely not overrated. Firstly, the fans are generally well informed and have a lot of energy. It's small- but that means you can see the field well from any section. Plus the green monster is a baseball landmark. And the food costs a fortune, but at least it's decent- and you can always grab a keilbasa for cheap outside on Landsdowne. And the bathrooms? Well, okay, the bathrooms suck- hardcore. But I've been to a lot of parks and still prefer it, because AFTER a game you can go out and you're right in the heart of the city- surrounded by bars and parks and things to do.
An overrated park is probably Yankee Stadium. Why? Because honestly, the park itself is just kind of soulless and just plain uhm... ugly. Rusting blue scaffolding is not the theme that I would want to use in making my ballpark if I was the richest team in baseball. Also, the food (though marginally cheaper than Fenway) is disgusting. I paid like 5 bucks for a hot dog, and it was so terrible I threw it out halfway in. The location around it is pretty ugly too, plopped right by the freeway. It has some nice features like the Yankee greats monuments, but heck- you can pick those up and MOVE them to a better park. So basically, it's a big let down of a park- especially for the biggest name brand in baseball. I'm pretty glad they're building a new one.

It is hard to call a stadium overrated when it is filled most of the time. I do agree that it is expensive, parking you have to pay a ton for and the bathrooms are tight. I have been in Fenway as well and the seats there are just way to narrow. But the difference between the 2 is Wrigley is a pretty picture but when you are in Fenway you actually feel the history in the building. Sorry but Wrigley really has no World Series history in its back pocket like Fenway does.

hey porgie, shut the hell up, and your ''whinny sux'' nickname is just as gay as you. the Sox out drew the scrubs in attendance last year and tv ratings. The chubs dont even have a single loyal fan, learn THE TRUTH about something before you try and speak it. Anyways the answer to the question is wrigley field ''the worlds largest gay bar'', everything you said is what I've been saying for years. The only thing you forgot is that it smells like piss the second you walk in the place. Oh yeah and if your sitting in the lower level more than 20 rows back everytime there is a fly ball or pop up you cant even see the ball due to the rafters. And what are you talking about the Sox only having 10000 fans a game they averaged 36,511 per game last season.

I did not enjoy Tampa Bay at all. It is a horrible park. But the worst (besides wrigley which I did not like either) was Philly. The concourses were too small and cramped. It took 15 minutes to go thru 1 concession stand line and i hate that the scoreboard was in far away left field.

Georgie boy. Why so bitter? Why hate the Sox so much? Your argument is so flawed. You are talking out your behind again. As a Cubs fan, not a Sox fan, I can tell you that most Sox fans could care less about the Cubs. And the other way around too. It is guys like you who are not from Chicago that do not know better. But to destroy your stupid argument.
Tigers attendance from 2006 down to 2002 = 2,595,937- 2,024,505 -1,917,005 -1,368,245 - 1,503,623.
Sox attendance from 2006 down to 2002 = 2,957,411 - 2,342,834 - 1,930,539 - 1,939,594 - 1,676,911.
What does this prove - The Sox have outdrawn the Tigers every year in the 5 years we are looking at, even last year during the Tigers playoff year, and with extra games added for the postseason.
- The Sox have a smaller seating capacity that Detroit, but still averaged 26,783 to the Tigers 23,233, a difference of over 3,500 more fans at the Cell a game than at Tiger Stadium.
- The Sox last year played to an 89.9 % capacity last year, the Tigers only 72.6%
So your argument is garbage. Try relaxing for bit. No need to hate the Sox so much. Is it jealousy over them winning it all in 2005?

The only thing nice about Yankee Stadium is the field. The seats are horrible the food and drink overpriced, the walkways are antiquated. The new stadium will be a better venue for ball. It's time to say goodbye to the old.

You can't say Fenway Park is overrated, it's the thrill of going to America's park that is what it's about. Who are you people to judge a stadium based on it's quality. After all, don't we go to ball games to enjoy the game of baseball, not to criticize what is bad about the park?
I guess if you had to pick the most "overrated' for tangible reasons, fine, it's Fenway: $6.50 for peanuts. Charging well over a couple grand monster seat tickets.
