You can type questions into YAHOO answers and people will respond. You can also take a bottle and write a paper message, put the message in the bottle and chuck it into the sea, where it will float to a new land and somebody will read it. Or you could capture a pigeon and tie a small note to its leg, and then release it, and it will fly over hill and dale and arrive at somebody else's pigeon coop where they will read the message. Some Indian tribes used blankets which they would shape the smoke from their campfires to communicate in code over long distances on the open prairies. Naval officers use two flags called semaphore flags to communicate from ship to ship when distances are too great to yell. Communication is FUN!
