Murdoch, why are you doing this? Nobody is buying your stories anymore.
I don't really see this happening. A.J. Smith would not part with his young, stud linebacker.
Does anyone else think that Murdoch looks like Dr. Z (head of Daimler Chrysler)?

Well I agree that would be a good plan for Dallas, but not sure that the Chargers would be intrested. Hey maybe the Cowboys could really push that postive test thing and lower the stock of Merriman. Then Jones and Spears should be enough.
DrewBlood you may want to look into Wade Phillips history. The Cowboys weren't "lucky" to get him as a head coach. Last time he was a head coach he SUCKED. He was brought in to be Jerry Jones PUPPET. He won't be the Coach, Jones will be.

It's bad enough that we already have one idiot on the Cowboys team. Now you are asking for another. Shawne Merriman could have already been a Cowboy but his attitude and character were just a little suspect. Why in the world would San Diego need Julius Jones. The Chargers would want way too much for Merriman and there are better players with more experience that are available in the free agent market. The player we need to trade is T.O. that guy is making way too much money to be dropping balls when the game is on the line. If I were the one making the decisions I would do everything it took to bring Adalius Thomas from the Ravens who already plays in a 3-4. And I would trade T.O. for a bunch of draft picks and find me another WR and a safety in the draft and/or in free agency. Unfortunately for me none of this is going to happen and I'm pissed because there is a good chance that this team is going nowhere fast.

The chargers won't give up one of the best defenders in the league, a guy who almost won the defensive MVP award and could have broken the sack record if he wasn't suspended, AND is only in his 2nd year in the NFL!? I don't think it can happen. There is nothing the cowboys could offer to the chargers to get that guy except maybe Roy Williams who would finally be a rock in the chargers' secondary since Rodney Harrison. You suggested Julius Jones, but the chargers have LT and Turner, even though Turner probably won't be resigned this year because he will want too much money and will be lured away by another team. My final answer is: no, i do not think so...

First off, Merriman wouldn't leave San Diego. He has a better chance at getting a Super Bowl ring if he stays where he's at. Second, there is NO WAY that AJ Smith is going to trade Merriman, who was defensive rookie of the year and who led the NFL with 17.5 sacks (despite missing 4 games). Dallas got WAY LUCKY with being able to snag Wade Phillips as your new head coach. But don't start getting greedy!

Merriman would be a FORCE on that defense. He would be a great addition to Roy Williams and DeMarcus Ware.
As far as TO demanding it, gimme a break. Unless he is paying for Merriman's salary he can 'demand' all he wants. But it is a great idea for the franchise.

Since the Chargers are in need of a running back then J Jones would be a good trade for Merriman.

Wade Phillips likely desires somewhat more effective time with that protection. i imagine they have different elements of a sturdy protection. DeMarcus Ware and Terence Newman are sturdy. Roy Williams blows assignments on social gathering, yet him and Ken Hamlin have the abilities to be sturdy safeties. In any adventure, i do not see San Diego giving up Merriman. he's the backbone of that protection, and as dumb as A.J. Smith is, I doubt he'd supply up Merriman even as he might want to be construction a protection round that guy.

No, and y would San Diego do it, he played 12 games with 17 sacks, if he played all the games he would have broke the recod. Plus San Diego doesn't want to deal with Owens now that they don't have a coach. and Dallas has Demarcus Ware at the position
