To answer your question what was the Civil Rights Movement all about if not equality, irrespective of race? If two people love each other what does it matter that they should be a couple from different races? The only minus I know of is the difficulty sometimes encountered in matching organs for those of mixed race. There is no end in sight for either race.

The number of interracial couples of any type is minuscule. With our knowledge of DNA and the human genome we will find out that we are a lot more inter-racially mixed than we think.
I don't think we are about to find the end of races anytime soon (like in the next 500 years).
There are no pluses or minuses here unless positive or negative racial qualities are enhanced or diminished .in individual couples. That can be said of intra-racial couples also. Personally, I think we should ignore race and pay more attention to political, cultural, character, and intellectual differences in our personal associations.
Remember, before we had all these races we were probably all Africans. Tell that to the religious zealots that seek to divide us by race and even by sect based on their interpretation of the written word, i.e. word written by a man or men (not woman or women) from another culture.

I dont see it as a minus in general. I can say from experience that while adult couples do ok sometimes the kids of mixed relationships suffer. Its also cultural. True Hawaiians for example want to only marry other true Hawaiians. Some asian cultures frown upon mixing relationships as do some religions. But overall I dont think its a bad thing. Ive dated outside my race so to speak its not a big deal.

Don't know, don't care with all these interracial relationships one day the white race will be wiped out. In England the amount of mixed race children is growing every year. That is not or supposed to be a racist remark it is a fact.

I am German and white....I love my heritage and culture. I live in America. I married a man of French and native ameircan decent. I think that interracial relationships can cause culture conflicts and problems, especially for the childrnen. I think the best way to preserve our past and our culture is to stick to your own.
I do not mean this to be offensive. I think that black people who love their heritage should not water itdown with any other race. I have a chinese friend whose mother told him he better not bring home a girl who was not chinese also....

I love black men, I was in a interracial relationship, some people had an issue with it, but like I used to say that it was their problem.

I don't think it is a plus or a minus for society. It is a personal issue and none of society's business.

i think this is a matter of preference. altough my personal preference was to marry a strong black man, my sister married a man whose father is dominican and his mother is elsalvadorian. my brother is engaged to a turkish girl and we are all a very happy, mixed family. the only way it causes conflict in culture with the children , is if the parents forget who they are and where they come from, and selfishly neglect to teach their children both heritages. we can all have the best of both worlds if we lose our own prejudices and build a better tomorrow for our children. we have the power to change the negatives into positives, and let those that are lost in ignorance stay lost by themselves. freedom of choice is a god given right that even he can't take away, but loving ourselves and each other was a commandment. let us not get so stuck in tradition that we lose sight of what is most important.

I think it's great - a sign that we're getting better about our prejudices. I know that sometimes mixed background creates identity issues for kids, but I think the pros of overcoming racial separatism outweighs all of that.
Plus, it's way more exciting when you can celebrate two or three really different cultures instead of just one.
