Of course, if you're already in the intersection then you should go through, but I've observerd drivers speeding up to beat yellow lights even though they're almost a city block away when the light turns yellow! Why do people feel like they need to beat yellow lights? Yellow light means slow down, not speed up!

Yellow light runners should be ticketed. That said, it will never happen on a consistent basis. Too difficult to monitor without spending lots of money.

I drive a truck and if I am loaded with fuel I am approaching intersection slow, but I cannot usually stop. I do not run red lights but have had to run some yellow ones.
Its not the yellow light runners I am worried about. It is ther red light runners!

Yellow means clear the intersection-red is coming. It's perfectly legal to be in the intersection when the light is yellow. But you're NOT supposed to lean on the throttle and blow through the intersection when it turns red.

I don't think the enforcement should be on the yellow lights.

The enforcement should either be on
1. Running a red light because they didn't make it in time.
2. Speeding, because they sped up over the speed limit to make the yellow.

If they are within the speed limit and cross on a yellow, they should be considered within their rights to cross.

NO. People who stop for yellow lights impede the flow of traffic--especially in the congested part of the cities.

get a life. yellow means the light is about to turn red..it hard enough for the cop to ticket redlight runners without messing with yellow.

In Florida, we don't even inforce penalities on red light runners.

When the light changes, always wait untill all the red light runners clear then proceed.

Understand, most of our drivers are over 75 and cannot see past the steering wheel and when the car in front of them goes, so do they.
