People don't want to put in the work it takes to make a relationship last these days. If they would follow their vows there would be less divorces and more adult women with a husband.

relationships are tough, society has set the pace for the current status of marriage and relationships. Lawyers are a dime a dozen, when theres a problem, theres always someone there to pick up the pieces, instead of the 2 working things through. I am divorced, it wasn't easy and I will never go through another one. I am in a relationship but am not sure how I feel about it, but that is because I learned from the 1st marriage. It takes love but so much more. I want my children to know that mistakes will be made but you learn from them and hopefully don't make them again. Men cheat, women cheat, kids are born out of wedlock, my son / gf is having a baby, not married, they are only 20, and happy. All of us in the family did it the same way, met someone, got pregnant, tried, didn't work but one thing I've noticed is that all the kids in the family are happy, content, their working now, or in college, etc etc. You can teach your children about your mistakes and hopefully guide them through their lives until they are adults.
Is that a bad statistic? maybe but this is today, this is how it is, it isn't 30 years ago or 50 years ago, there are wars, women in the workforce, womens lib, equal right, etc etc. its inevitable, people change with the times. The times are a changin'

Times have changed! Women now days are a lot more independent than our grandmothers were. Also, alot of our grandmothers did not have a college education or a career besides their life was to be a homemaker and have babies and stay home. And many women are now getting out of unhealthy relationships as to 3 decades ago couples stayed married even if the marrage was unhappy or abusive.

Thirty years ago, we didn't have all of these money hungry lawyers to talk people into divorce and women knew what they were in for when they began living with a man. Today it's nothing to have one date and two start living together which leaves a bad impression on them when they break up so they don't go through it again. Morals of being in a family has gone down hill and most of it (not all) has been due to lawyers making so easy for people to divorce.

As you can tell, I hate lawyers. Never met one I liked and we all know that lawyers turn into politicians and don't even get me started on that.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC! I hope all you women out there (and men too) read this startling statistic. Only 35% of adult women have husbands? Yet how many of the other 65% have kids? I've said it before and I'll say it again: The way you're SUPPOSED to do it is to meet somebody, fall in love, get engaged, get married, buy a home, AND THEN start a family. When people meet, have sex, get pregnant, wonder if they're really in love, and then put off getting married because they're afraid of the commitment, it's clear that all hell breaks loose. And if you don't believe me, look at all the ridiculous questions posted by single moms who aren't sure what to do about their cheating boyfriends!

My reaction, assuming your statistics are correct, is, "Who cares?" I can't see anything that is either good nor bad about that stat. Now, if you had cited similar statistics for mothers living without husbands, I would have been outraged.

Probably because women have more options now, and why bother picking up someone else's dirty socks when you don't have to???!

Women do not need a man for security anymore. Thats why.

Wouldnt it be the same stat for the men?
People are getting married later, divorcing more and I guess choosing to not remarry or marry at all.

Sad to hear if that is correct. Unless you are a single man.
