I noticed asians only associate with other asians even the ones who speak perfect English. Seems they stick together. Why is that? Only times I noticed them talking to other race were for school related.

I think this is universal and not focused on Asians in general....If one Caucasian meets another, they would automatically greet each other and start rattling on as if they are good friends ...I suppose one feels comfortable when you see a specie of the same kind....however there are exceptions. Some don't feel comfortable meeting the same kind. I don't. I feel that if I am out of my country I would like to meet people of other cultures...it depends on how extrovert you are....

Guess that's because they can undertand each other perfectly well and don't need to explain everything in depth. By the way, do you not realise that especially jokes, chances are it will take the same race/culture to understand most of them? That's why, the feeling they are "related" and "at home". and, different races express themselves differently and certain things that one race can be said, another might just take offence, maybe it's just not to upset another race unknowingly?

Chinese look seriously on famaly value. Thus we always celebrate to gether with famaly member. Even among chinese diference clan will gether together and form a association. Thus you can find a lot of temple are actual build by association. Thus I thin kthis will be the reason.

i've noticed that too, my sister had a really good friend in middle school who was hmong, but as soon as they got into high school her hmong friend wouldn't hang out with her anymore, only with other hmong people, it really upset my sister, who knows why they do it, i worked with a girl who i'd consider a best friend who was asian but it seemed like we really couldn't hang out because i wasn't asian too? i really didn't understand that situation, i guess only an asian person can answer this question

I dont think this only takes place in school, seems as though its like this everywhere. I dont think they mean anything negative about it, they probably just feel more comfortable being around other asians.

This is not always a true statement. My daughter's best friend is Chinese. I think that generally kids group up based on race - especially in older ages - but these two girls are in 8th grade and best of friends.

Why do black people only associate with other black people in high school? It's obviously a race thing. Why are you giving me a thumbs down? Is it because you know that it's true and don't want to admit it?

i am Asian and i only have Asian friends because the other kids don't talk to me at all. I have no idea why it is not that i don't want other ethnic friends it is just because they don't want to be mine for some reason.

My daughter was born in China, but she is pure Texan. She usually "hangs" with other girls interested in barrel racing and break-away. I'll admit that she is part of that clique. Schools are full of cliques, the most prominent one is the Highschoolers don't hang with middle schoolers who don't hang with elementary schoolers.

I've kind of noticed that too and it sucks because I really dig Asian girls, but you can't approach any of the cute ones because they're always with a group. I guess they do it for protection, like zebras.
