Check out your nutrition plus your exercising patterns. It could be that your body is trying to conserve because you're not eating enough, or you are over-exercising.

Hormones are the "wild cards" of the body, so any number of things influences them (including stress) but these are the 2 biggest reasons for missing/being late w/menstrual cycle (if not a candidate for the 2 most common: pregnancy, menopause.)

Good luck

When I was younger and very much celibate I was very irregular, I would have my period any where between every 2-6 weeks. I have heard that going on birth control can regulate you I chose not to for health reasons. You can speak to your doctor to make sure everything is OK but from my own personal experience I was fine.

If you've recently, within the last few years, started your period, it's normal for you to experience irregularity. I would suggest speaking with a doctor as it could be your nutrition or a hormonal imbalance causing this. Good luck!

You must be fairly young since your other question talks about what you need to know about having sex for the first time. If I were you I would talk to your mom about both problems.
