hey i want to make a rogue on a pvp server . the way i like to play it is ( im pvp because thats my favorite thing to do ) ambush, ss, gouge, gg, ever. A lot of people tell me that you have to do all that stunlocking and stuff.. and all those stupid attacks but i think it would be fun to just gank people by ambushing them then finishing them off with sinister strikes and eversitate. Is that really a bad way ? and if it is, whats stunlocking? just stuns like gougs, cheapshot, all that? thanks!

Stunlocking is using the many stun-type attacks in a Rogues arsenal to keep an enemy from being able to attack. Cheap Shot, Gouge, Blind a Rogue (unlike other classes) have several different attacks which will allow you to keep an enemy helpless.
Rogues can only wear leather armor, while they can inflict a great deal of damage, they CANNOT take a lot of damage. Stunlocking can be one means of mitigating the damage that a Rogue may take in a fight, the less time an enemy has to attack, the less damage they can do.
You can try to out-damage an enemy but depending on the armor they may be able to withstand it. Mail wearers (Hunters, Shamen) or Plate (Warriors, Palidans) can take a great deal of damage and still fight.

ok, im not a rogue, im a druid, but if you wanna know how to best kill people on wow, the best way for a rogue is make your poisons as best as they can, their are poisons for stunning, slowing spell casting, ect. I find it EXTREMELY annoying when fighting or dueling a rogue with good poison. and yes, stunlocking is just gouge, cheapshot, and that. cheapshot will be one of your best friends.
trust me, poisons are your friend against healers. Yet they are pointless against druids (Abolish Poison and Cure Poison.) you rogues are EXCELLENT against mages.

Yep that's stun-locking. Controlling the whole fight by keeping your target stunned and incapacitated while you rotate around, backstab, mutilate, gouge, ss, ss, kidney shot....
It's all about control
