Please make sure that sound card drivers are properly installed. Go to system properties (right click My Computers > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager) to ensure if there are any devices which need driver installation.

For details about installing drivers, please refer to user's manual of the device.

Hope that helps!

computer name and model number: if its a compaq, hp, or any other brand, u must go to the website for that computer and find a file called a driver. then type the model number in the website to get the driver for ur pc ..u may not be familiar with this but its the only way to get the sound back. if not i can help..and it wont cost u anything lol.

There must have been some recent change in your settings or OS. The computer may have a damaged sound card. The motherboard may be dying. You don't specify how old it is and if you've made recent changes.

go to you control panel on your computer and make sure that it hasn't been changed there. you should see a little speaker looking thing there. click on that and check your setting. If that isn't it than the port that you plug it in to may be bad.

go to sounds and audio devices in the control panel and make sure nothing is on mute. Then go to the audio tab and click on volume. Make sure everything is on the highest and that mute is not selected. Now click ok and apply. Now see if it works.
