Poor little 2-year old Casey died, inter alia, from 'compression of the neck'.
I have noticed that the same term was used for the death of one of the Ipswich protitutes.

What is the difference?

i thought strangulation was due to hands right around the throat; compression etc suggest bearing down on the front.

I think its like this..

Strangulation is done by a wire or rope.. but compression could be done with hands..

Causes two types of death.. 1. Not able to Breath... 2. Breaking the neck bone, I think its called larynx or trachea..

compression of the neck is pressing from one side as with hand, strangulation means force all round the neck

Compression of the neck is improper English...it should have been printed asphyxiation of the throat. Tell that to the media.

Maybe compresion of the neck is the force on one side causing the air ways to block intead of the placing of hands around the whole neck! So maybe he put one hand on the front of her neck to stop the air.
