He ran and left his insurgent followers to die.
Who did he run to, his boss of course.
If he comes back,hang him.

This is about as logical as saying if a criminal flees to Mexico, then Mexico is actively supporting the criminal. Somehow I doubt Iran wants to actively support a guy who doesn't throw down with their version of Sharia, and often speaks against it. Al Sadr wants to rule Iraq -- he doesn't want to be a puppet of Iran. Iran just happens to be a convenient place to lay low for a while, because there are some members of his movement in that country as well. That doesn't mean the government wants him there -- more than likely they'd kick him out or even execute him if he was caught. Iran doesn't tolerate people who talk smack about its government.

Sadr will say he fled from those TERRIBLE americans. That and he had a hot date with the president of Iran. If a mullah smiles do they die within 24 hours? They look like they haven't taken a dump for a year.

That's what the major news is saying. As for the ' Iran has nothing to do with Iraq' crowd, their political agenda has been worn on their sleeves for a while, so this won't change anything.

it is possible. his father and brothers were a target in iraq and were killed by saddam. America has marked al sadr as a target, maybe he don't want to be killed. it is hard to complete your plans when you are dead. iraqi shiites were exiled to iran under saddams rule, including the badr brigade. the badr brigade seems to be ignored even though they are more of a threat than the mahdi militia.

I know that he has fled, but I haven't heard where. Anyway, we can't invade or airstrike Iran, unless we want war with Syria, Russia, China, and Turkey. I think that would be called " World War III"
