You almost sound like there's something wrong with being over 50.... you know it's going to happen to you someday too, right? Being 50 isn't some social disease. If you hate your job and your coworkers so much, then go to work at a place where there's more people your own age. They may not enjoy having YOU around, either.

Ha - I was in the same situation - Just make friends with them. Believe it or not listen to them. They have a lot of life experiences. Tell them about your life and listen to their stories- Also remember that women their age are normally over all the petty things what other young women do.

Ignore them as best as possible. I've become quite good at distancing myself from my coworkers. But then, I do have a corner office in which to hide.

Nothing wrong with being over 50. They have lots to teach you. See if you can find anything in common with them. Just be nice and do your work. Things tend to fall in place.

i totally understand i am in same situation and am living la vida nana way before my time sometimes i tell them the most shocking obnoxious story from some wild time ive had maybe even exagerate a bit just to give the old hens something to cluck about

I think you should open your mind and perhaps benefit from your coworkers' life experience. If you are open and willing to learn from them, they can be an asset to you personally and professionally. You are an adult and need to learn to interact with people of all ages.

Wow...my mom is the complete opposite of you. She's oldest and all the other ppl are youngest.

Well make friends with them...age doesent matter.
