I usually listen to rap (ipod like 95% rap) I like John Mayers Continuum...whats some good artist/artists that's similiar? What genre is he?

I know that he will be on the cover of Rollig stone next month as one of the "new" guitar gods. He is shown with Derek Trucks(who was on tour with Eric Clapton, plays with the Allman Brothers and has his own band) and John from Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

I don't know much about rap, but if you like the sound of John Mayer you might also like Jack Johnson. Or if you like John Mayers guitar sound look into some Eric Clapton.
I think John Mayer would be considered pop.

John Mayer is just a Dave Mathews wannabe. If you want some great music from someone you've probably never heard of try Big Head Todd.
