I am pregnant and I want to have as little stretch marks as possible. I know that I am most likely going to have them. But I want to get coco butter lotion and use that so that if I do get them, they will be light. Is there any specific brand that works best? I am going to go buy it today after my doctor's appointment and I want to know if any brand is better than another.

Everybody seems to think Palmer's is the best, so I would try that one. I do know that if you start using it early and consistently, it can work wonders. I have a friend that has used coco butter through 5 pregnancies and she does not have a stretch mark on her body, including her breast.

Best wishes!

Earlier in my pregnancy i used Palmer's cocoa butter creme for stretch marks and L'occitane Shea Butter creme. But, as my belly grew and the skin stretched, i found that both of these heavier lotions irritated my skin. I am now using a very light facial mosturizer on my belly now. It's the Dove sensitive skin formula. I currently have just a few very small stretch marks on the sides of my belly near my thigh. Nothing on the top of my belly.

Use Palmer's. We all know that stretch marks are from dry skin. Well, let me also tell you that dry skin itches. Stretch marks are on the outermost layers of the skin and if you scratch it puts little tears in the skin that stretch. DO NOT SCRATCH. If you have an itch put cocoa butter. I didn't have any with my fist child, oh, but the second. I was pregnant 2 years in a row and I just couldn't take not scratching anymore. And I indulged, and got full of stretch marks.

Everything that I read states that stretch marks are hereditary. I used cocoa butter lotion (from bath & body works) and Curell lotion and I never got any. I think using a good moisturizing lotion with vitamin E can help prevent them to a certain extent because it helps your skin to be more elastic.

I used cocoa butter too, and I still have stretch marks, they really arent that bad, nobody can see them, but I dont think there is a sure fire way not to get them.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter works really well, and i have also heard that different forms of Shea Butter work as well too, and unlike cocoa butter, shea butter comes in different smell-good varieties.
