I ran out of liquid detergent to clean my babies bottles, I have to do it a few times a day or I would put in dishwasher. I was wondering if it is safe to use antibacterial liquid soap to clean them if I rinse really well. I can't take my baby out because it is so nasty out and he just got his shots yesterday.

Look at it this way, you wash your hands with anti-bacerial soap and then touch the baby AND the bottles....why on earth would washing the bottles in it harm the baby?

The answer is, it won't. Antibacterial soap has many of the same ingrediants as dish washing liquid. Be sure to rinse the bottles well in hot water, and do try to use a soap that does not have added moisturizers, as it could have a strange taste if not rinsed well. Rinse the bottles in very hot water after washing them, and you should be perfectly fine.

I am not sure about using the antibacterial all though it should be fine. My mom occasionally uses laundry detergent if we can't get to the store. It seems to work and my neice has never gotten sick or thrown up. and i am sure that in the last year and a half my mom has used it on her bottles. I would suggest rinsing the bottle very well right after use, that way there isn't any formula left in it.

It's fine to use antibacterial soap. I would rinse them in hot water just to be safe and make sure they are rinsed out really well. Like some of the other responders said, soap is soap.

I think it's fine. For the most part soap is soap. If you are still concerned just give the bottles a quick boil and you'll be good to go.

A tiny bit of bleach in water to rinse them and also rinse them very well will also do the trick. This is what daycares use also for the bottles and toys.
