in most early pictures,drawings,storys etc pirates were protrayed as to wear earings does anyone know why.

Because there cute, and they match their outfit's. lol

But seriously most "Pirates" wore a gold ear-ring as a way of insuring that they had a funeral. The undertaker would take the ear-ring as payment for burial.

actually pirates are very eccentric in thier appearance. they usually hav 1 hand and a sickle on da other. they wear a special ornament in the ear which they might be following from generations. many used to say like that only......

yes they believed that a person with pierced ears could not die by drowning.

This may sound weird but it IS the reason.
