The pain that they are referring to only lasts about a week. Aspirin will take care of any pain.
Something like 80% of people complain of pain, for days after getting a tattoo. Still tattoos are a booming business.
Something like 50% complain of pain, for hours after getting teeth cleaned. They still go to the dentist.
Id say my vasectomy hurt one hell of a lot less than simple hosehold accidents like dropping somthing on my foot, or falling in the tub.
I had only two after effects:
1. I will never have to pay child support.
2. I look younger than all my friends whom have chidlren.

when my husband had his done about 7 yrs ago he he was SORE for about 3 days and then tender for about 10 days afterwards. He was given Vicodin for the first day then extra strength tylanol for the rest of the time. By day 5 postop he was doing everything he did before just a little slower like he had a pulled muscle. About 3 weeks after the surgery he got some swellinging one testicle but went to the doctor and got some meds because he had gotten irritatated the site from doing to much. When they say take it easy for 6 weeks they mean it even if you feel good you are still healing

My husband had a less invasive procedure done, I can't remember the name. Your doc. would know. Anyway, he had two tiny snips through which they pull the seminal tubes (vas deferens), cut and cauterize them. One stitch in each closed the cut. He had almost no swelling or pain. They do have you apply an ice pack to the area and the guy should rest for that day. That was it. Now over 5 years ago. Check this website for an extensive information on vasectomy.

OK. Had this procedure done 30 yrs ago in the doctors office. No problems. We had 1 daughter before the procedure. No more kids she said, during delivery. 4 yrs later My wife gets pregnant with my best friend. We divorced. Now I can't have any more kids. It wound have been better in my case for her to have her tubes tied after the 1st delivery. I am the last of my immediate family. Would like to have had a boy to carry on the name. One good thing, no more sperm only seamen. Less messy. Don't every one cry at once.

I had the procedure done less than six months ago and after the procedure I had no pain, I did not even need the pain killers that the doctor gave me. All I really needed was the ice pack.
I did have some discomfort for about a month after that felt as if they twitched but maybe it was from being horny other than that no serious pain or discomfort...it is one of the best things I have ever done and my wife is happy too!!

I ad mine done 36 years ago and have never suffered even one minute of pain. The operation is simple and is after wards somewhat uncomfortable for a day or two, but I would not say painful. The after effects were POSITIVE, because after having 4 kids in 4 years, we no longer had to worry about pregnancy which heightened the enjoyment of sex for us. Good luck!!

I had it done about 15 years ago. It was easy really. In and out of hospital he same day with very little (almost none) pain even when the anaesthetic wore off. There were no side effects at all, except the ones I wanted. Like no condoms ever again.

There are no big pain risks associated with vasectomies.
I had one and know plenty of other men who've had it with no complications at all. You heal up in a few days and everything is back to normal.
The only discomfort I recall was that the nubs of the stitches tended to get caught in the gauze pad a little. Other than that everything was just fine.

Vasectomy and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

Had mine done in a doctor's office late one afternoon...Took about 45 minutes...I was laughing with the doctor and nurse while the procedure was going on (much to the relief of the 'next patient' waiting in the doctor's lobby). Went home in gym shorts and was up and about the next morning...Very easy and hassle-free these days...
