I have taken medication for Major Depression, Dysthymia, aniety and panic attacks for more than twenty years. I also work in mental health and I have some basic basic medical knowlege. I'm also interested in seeing if St. John's Wort can help me. Why can't I get it the way I want it?

I have found it two forms; gel caps and in drops that are mostly alcohol. I am a vegetarian and gelatin is made out of animal products. I don't drink alcohol; it's against my religion and I used to have a problem with it a long time ago.

Anybody know where I can get St. John's Wort that isn't in gel caps or alcohol? I know I can take it out of the gel caps or boil away the alcohol, but that seems like a lot of trouble.

Do a web search and you can find the drops in alchohol free form and in tablet form. One link is listed below but there are more. You just need to keep looking as it is out there. Have you tried GNC stores in your area?

Twinlab the nutritional supplement company has a division called Alvita. Alvita's product line is herbal tea bags. They produce St. John's Wort in tea bags. Look for it in the tea section of most large health food stores.

actually you can find this in your local metaphysical store or witchcraft store. I hope this helps your problem! I know that I have read that St. John's Wort/ St. John the Conqueror Root can help with depression.
