My girlfriend and I celebrated our one year anniversary last Friday. I took her out to eat, wrote her a really deep note, and gave her a nice card. Well.... we told each other that we would go easy on valentines day, because we're going to NYC next Saturday for vacation. We really don't don't get to be together all the time, so 4 days together will be very nice. So all I got her was a card. But its not romantic card, it's a funny one. Im gonna write something sweet in it, so do you think that will be good enough? If you were in the same senario, how would you feel? Oh, and she dosen't have to pay anything on the trip, I'm paying for it all, not to sound stuck up though : )

I think you are EXTREMELY sweet but why don't you get her a really soft/fuzzy mini-teddy bear to go with that card. That would be PERFECT then.

To the first post: Go back to 1st grade and begin to study reading and comprehension all over again. The question is if that is good enough or not.
Well my answer to that would be I think that might be ok. Be sure to write something nice in there though ( I know you stated you would but I’m just stressing the point).
But maybe you can go out and get her 2 roses (this being your second Valentine together). Or a small box of chocolates. I understand that you are paying for the entire NYC trip which means that I don’t think an extra 5 dollars would really set you back that far. But like I said I think you would be alright with the card.

well that depends on how she will take it. like you giving her the rose may make her think you still want a relationship with her and it may make her bf jealous. this is a good question but if i were you then i wouldn't leave her ne thing on her car what if her boyfriend would come by while she was a t work and see it. It could cause problems you could always tell her happy valentines day, but i wouldn't do ne thing just yet. it may not work out between her and him if it dont then take her the flower. Im sure that in time she may want to date you. you sound nice and it's the thought that counts. Happy Valentines Day good luck. but just be friends you never know how things may work out, i know it may hurt you a little but time will tell if she's meant to be with you or this other guy. just be patient good things come to those who wait.

Hi there,
I would say the trip is good enough. I wish i could get away right now on a trip. Last year at this time we went to Disney. I don't even expect anything on Valentines...to me it's just a money grabber and i work very hard for my money. Maybe just get a single flower (If you know a specific kind she likes) to go with the card. That would be nice for her. Good luck and have fun on your trip! Cheers

I agree with the small teddy bear idea. Something simple but says exactly what it needs to. That with the card and some sweet words and you'll be good to go. Whatever you do, NO lingerie, that's only a mans way of thinking. Good luck and be safe on your trip.

As a chick, I think that is a wonderful idea! Truly, Valentine's is merely another day of the week...it is more like forcing men to profess a year's worth of love into one day....I don't like that.
I would rather have random acts of love throughout the year.
You sound like a good man....don't worry.

Well, everything is good except the funny card. At this point in your relationship, a romantic card would have made the everything PERFECT!!! It's really what you write inside that's important. No more "funny" Valentines though.

well to me thats the definition of going easy.
if by chance she buys you something big for valentines, just make it up to her in NYC.
besides, valentines is a commericial holiday. the flowers u buy her today will go down 75% tomorrow.it's a cheasy holiday in my opinion. better to save the money.
a deep poem in the card would be great.

A card is nice, and if you're going to do something before or after, it's probably sufficient. You might also leaver her a voicemail letting her know you're thinking about her.

add a single red rose tied with a ribbon that's her favourite colour on it. That's simple but classically romantic <33
