Right - one good way to begin is to arouse interest, say by asking a question, or a few questions, which the body and conclusion of your essay will answer. Then the conclusion will tie it all together and also very briefly summarize. For example:
Who knew what would come of four lower class boys from Liverpool, when they first started making music together? How could anybody foresee the direction rock and roll would take when the Silver Beatles first appeared on the scene? Was it a fluke of the times, or did the group that became the Beatles really have the creativity to see them through decades of innovative and poetic lyrics, set to music?
