This sounds like your homework! O.K. What is taken for granted these days are things like cell phones: they make it so we can get hold of people at any time, any where. (old days: we stayed home if we expected a call. Our parents didn't let us stay on the house phone for long at all, and the phone was out in the public part of the home, so we were careful what we said! We had time limits on when people could call....not too early, not too late, etc. Plus our parents knew who we were chatting with!). ...almost everyone has a computer, now. (old days, we didn't have computers to look up everything for us or explain things to us. We read books and learned for ourselves. We played games outside, not on gameboys, etc. or on the computer. We went to a friend's house if we wanted to chat. No email, no private chat rooms, no homework answers on the web). These days, one does not need to even get onto the cell phone to 'chat' with someone. There is the computer all ready for emails and chat rooms, and lots of dangerous people out there who want to con us into thinking they are sweet. (old days, moms tried hard to stay home to rear children) These days, it takes two incomes for most families to pay for a house, food, power, water, and a car!
Old days: family usually had one car, and that was for the dad, the mom, and for all the children of driving age. These days: small children go to daycare of preschool, as mom HAS to work, normally. (old days: the family went to a movie theater together, or teens went on dates to the movie theater). Now, so many DVDs out, it is simpler to stay home and relax, while watching the same movies! Old days: ladies got pregnant and had to wait 6 weeks to take a test for pregnancy!. New days: ladies run to the nearest pharmacy and buy and instant test to see if they are pregnant or not. well, there you go for just starters!
