The Pistons.

This year there are only several teams capable of wining it all - Mavs, Suns, Spurs and maybe the Heat. I don't see the Pistons even making the finals (although I didn't give them any chance when they won it against the Lakers).

The best team at the moment (make that the best BY FAR) are the Mavs. However, if I have to bet, I'd put my money on Spurs if they meet again. The Mavs can not do anything wrong at the moment, but I think they are peaking way too early. What is interesting all of these teams have no chance of doing anything in the play-offs without their respective leader (Dirk, Timmy, Nash and Wade). That said, any injury, even a minor one can have a great influence on the final score.

Unlike the previous years, there aren't any TEAMS that can win it all this year.

Dallas. They are so consistent and deep. One might make the argument about Phoenix but they are without Nash right now and might be tired come playoff time because of their short rotation. Dallas however is every bit as talented as Phoenix and is much deeper so they will have fresher bodies in the playoffs
