we've witnessed the conflict theory being enacted.

for years women were not treated as equals to men in society. women, at one time or another:
a. couldn't vote
b. could work, but their pay check had to be given to the husband
c. didn't receive equitable pay
d. were considered personal property
e. were looked upon as needing to be pregnant and in the kitchen
f. did not have a place in the working arena
g. were allowed to be secretaries, teachers, or nurses

these obstacles to equality have been rebelled against. the female population took the injustice for it's maximum length of time.
slowly, but gradually women began to voice their opposition to the male dominated society. eventually, in small increments, society was forced to accept the female movement as a force to be reckoned with.

Well, according to conflict theory women are being repressed and held down under patriarchy. The patriarchal system exploits women without giving women their due worth. If we take conflict theory and Marx's views further, he would suggest that it is just a matter of time before women rebel against this system and overthrow the patriarchy.
