I work at Meijer, a Super Center similar to but better than Wal*Mart. I was helping a "guest" in the health and beauty care aisles who wanted to know if we had a hair product that she clearly knew we did not carry but she thought we should. I tried to be nice about it. Then she insisted that I and another team member go to the deodorant aisle where she gave us the old aluminum chlorhydrate (or whatever it is) causes Alzheimer's disease and the store ought to be sued for carrying the deodorants. I tried to point out that we carry several that do not have that ingredient but she just kept getting louder and nastier. She ended by saying that my co worker and I were bad for working for Meijer because of it, that we should quit right away and THAT WE ARE GOING TO GO TO HELL WE DON'T QUIT! What a whackadoo! Other team members have also had run ins with her and when one feisty team member got the manager who told her off in a nice way the whackadoo has not been back.

BellSouth (the new AT&T). Both their land-line and cellular support are wretched. That, and, pretty much any company that outsources their support. Reps are often minimally trained, or not trained at all. I can read from a queue card, and have read all of the FAQ's, etc before I call. So, it's annoying when someone is reading from the same FAQ I just read when I call with a problem, even after I've explained everything that I've tried and it matches the FAQ. Once the FAQ doesn't do the trick, I have to wait to be transferred to another group or wait for a callback. It's a pain.

A white collar (supposedly) professional from Wachovia Bank came in with her receipt because some stuff she had bought 2 weeks earlier had gone on sale since then and the wanted the difference back... well the store policy is we don't do that.. which we communicated to her.. she blew up and started yelling at us about how she had spent 12 hours walking around in high heels and did we really expect her to go out to the car( she brought the stuff with her but didn't bring it in the store) and bring it in and have to return and repurchase it all... for $20 and some change mind you... she was a walking witch and one of the rudest people I have ever met... I was considering changing banks to Wachovia until I met her and I guess she didn't realize by wearing her name tag in the store and making such a large scene.. she was giving them a bad name... some people are just totally clueless.

I'm an Estate Agent in Spain, and we sold a property to an English client, who now thinks she has a right to free translations for as long as she likes - it's been over a year since she bought through us, and even though we did the full after-sale service for her, she still comes into the office whinging and asking for freebies - drives me mad!!

actually it wasn't a customer but a doctor (i work at a hospital) and he proceeded to yell at me and curse at me because a patient wasn't transferred to the other hospital fast enough, even tho we had only been aware of the transport for a few minutes and weren't told it was an emerency of any kind. he got in trouble because it was all on the recorded phone line. it was very satisfying!

I can handle the customers with kindness and generosity, it is basically the people you have to work with! Some refuse to work as a team.

I hate it when some treat you like their servants and you have to cater their every whim. And when you decide not to act like their "humble servant" they threaten you by asking to speak to the manager. I get those every once in a while.

When I worked at a grocery store, there were several that I dreaded coming in. We made up names for them. One was "Crazy Lady" aka "Nazi Lady", and there was "Angry Jewish Guy", and there was the guy who smelled strongly of cat pee,
and this one guy that I saw in there twice, once I waited on him, and half his face was missing. Literally. Made me sick because I could see his teeth and bones. I'm getting woozy just thinking about it again.
