Yes but make SURE you back everything up! But you don't even have to reformat it! Just uninstall some unimportant programs. Hope this helps!! :-)

It will speed it up by a small margin and it is the cheapest option. Adding memory will help a lot, but not sure if you want to spend any money to speed it up. It is not recommended to format once in 7-8 months. If this was the case, companies would not use them. It cost money to back up systems and to restore them. I have not formatted my laptop and my desktop at home in years.

it depends on what software you will install after you format.
But mostly, it helps because installed and uninstalled softwares leaves some marks on the system and registry so it is recommended to format once in 7-8 months. Or clean install with Ghost or similar program.

deffinately makes it faster :) but remember to back up all of your work, you can use windows files and settings transfer wizzard to save it all if your using windows xp.
