Depends on what you view as the biggest negative thing. Death? The problem that has the most potential to kill the most people is the Global Warming issue. We've already seen it with Katrina, Greensburg, this years flooding in Missouri. And there is potential for things to become severely worse in the near future. Loss of Freedom? The current trend of controlling things in politics. It seems every group is intent on taking vital freedoms away, and at best only adding a very very few. Socio/Economocial damage? The current trend that big businesses are crushing smaller competition in a lot of fields is extremely damaging to the economy. Also, big oil has been doing a lot to hold back development in vehicles and is causing serious damage to both our economy and our development, and is also preventing the freedom of movement we once enjoyed with the higher gas prices. Basically, many of the big companies have ceased being beneficial to american society and are becoming more like parasites (see Creative-Destructive Economic theory for more details on this)
