Some people think you are older because you are tall and they are probably short. That is a major thing when you are tall people think you are older. ANd as for the makeup thing as long as you dont have ten pounds of makeup you shouldn't look that old.

In my country the average height for girls is also way shorter than the 5' 8" that I had when I was around your age. I didn't grow any taller after that but there was a period when I felt I was just towering over others. The most important thing is to feel good about being yourself and embracing the unique beauty that every individual have in themselves. Carry yourself with confidence and nothing else should matter; it definitely isn't a bad thing to be tall!
As for the makeup part, well, personally it's good for young girls to experiment with some makeup but I guess it's better to go light and easy with the colors. Lightly tinted lippies and the occasional eyeliner should be fine. The heavier things like 2-way cakes and cream foundations can always come later, maybe when one's old and is thinking of covering the crow's feet, hahah.

That used to happen to me all the time, it's not a bad thing. People in my family would think that I'm 16 or 17 when I was actually only 12. Which is kinda weird cuz I didn't wear make up and stuff(I was quite the tomboy actually) Just the other day, the Deacon at my church thought I was in college(I'm only a freshman in highschool lol)

the problem with looking older than you are is of course the male gender. older guys trying to mess with you. make sure you always let the fellows know you are only 13. not ready for a relationship. i had this problem when i was your age.i was fully developed at age 12. i acted older because i was mature for my age. i am 55 now. funny people guess I'm around 42 . depends on how you live your life.
you will be fine. not a bad thing.

Well, I'm around you're age too. I am also around taller than the average height for my age. I wear lip gloss and a little but of concealer and I don't see a problem with it. It's only when you wear too much of it and spend too much time on yourself in front of the mirror; that's when it becomes a bad thing. Keep the make-up to a limit and don't act too mature for your age, I think it's fine as long as you're comfortable with yourself.

You're lucky. I'll be 22 in a month and people mistake me for being 14 years old. I'm only 5'3", never wear makeup, usually wear baggy clothes and I act older than my real age. So it's either the little makeup you do wear doing this to you, or your clothes. If you dress older (tight clothes, low cut tops, short skirts, high slits) people are going to think you are older. And if you're taller they'll also think you're older than you are.

It's not necessarily a "bad" thing, although it can get a little awkward. When I was traveling with my family in Greece when I was 12 the locals thought I was 18 because of my height. All the kids wanted me to go to the bar, but were disappointed when they found out I was too young!

not a bad thing at all as long as you have judgement not to let any one harm you by getting involved with older guys that might want to use you. Enjoy it and look back one day when you're old and have some great memories.Happy Valentine's Day as we celebrate this day in America. This is a day of Love , go peace

It's not bad now, as long as you don't abuse your looks to do anything that only older people should be doing. But when you are 40 and people are thinking you are older than you are... you may hate it then.

I don't think it's a bad thing. People mistake me for being younger. I am a college student but people think I'm a high school student. It maybe because I short, and my hairstyle.
