I don't necessarily believe that society is more secular nor that it's less secular but we have to write about the concept and then discuss it for 3000 words. You know, 'is it?,or isn't it?'.

fewer and fewer people are church goers

xmas season----much protest against customary religious practices, music, decorations---in public locations

although it's not called religion---in public schools values education is being taught.

Lawmakers want to take the words "under God" out of the pledge of alleigance. Statues in front of public buildings (or Ten Commandments) which have any religious connotations are under attack to be removed. Manger scenes on public property are increasingly being removed. Christians are a target from the political left who are secularists.

This is not "much" help, but yes, we have become quite a secular society. Everything from peer and family pressure to advertising, to idealization of what we "should" be has taken much of our spirituality sense away. We have become products of our environment instead of respecting and nurturing our inner voices.
