Bill Gates is definitely an agnostic and find religion has merits. He's just not sure if there is or there is not a God. A lot of scientists are Christians or belong to a religion. It's a mix. As for your solar system real estate, I would believe that God is pleased that somebody is taking care of the planet. I am too.
