not at all

some people even get really snobby about not being mainstream and harping on about unknown actors, you know the type that always go 'oh you wont know who they are' when you ask who's in a film theyre talking about.

a lot of the time the big stars are big stars for a reason and they do add value to a film (though not all of them) (and some its definitely not for acting skills) but there are great films with no big star names in

Thats ridiculous, there have been some amazing films made that don't have big hollywood names in them. Most international films for a start. The Australian and Irish film boards have produced some incredible films. As have Spain, France, Korea and China. Most of these don't get watched as they don't have the money for publicity and the general public is so caught up in the "celebrity" thing that they don't bother to watch them or can't be bothered to read subtitles.

One flew over the cuckoos nest didn't have any big stars Nicholson was virtually unknown at the time, it was full of nut cases in a mental home and one of the nurses was named after a spanner, now what was her name? Oh I remember Nurse Ratched

But Hey Basketcase when are you gonna be in a movie and break the box office? Can I have please two copies of your autograph one to put under my pillow and the other to put on Ebay?

No,

Many movies like "Flight 93" have unknown actors and they are beautifully done.

Actually, many movies with big stars are poorly done and they lack passion because money was the only thing on the mind of those involoved.
