No, its not true. It may be difficult getting pregnant if her thyroid levels are off, but that's about it. I have an online friend who is hypothyroid and about to deliver any day. She did have difficulty getting pregnant and last year had a miscarriage because her thyroid levels were off, but after finding a new doctor who monitored her levels closely she became pregnant and had carried to full term.

I've actually spent the past few hours researching thyroid problems assoc. with the reproductive system. I just read that an underactive thyroid can be a cause of ovarian cysts. They mentioned that women with untreated or undiagnosed thyroid problems have a more difficult time conceiving, but with the right dose of medication can can increase the odds. Google thyroid problems linked to infertility, that should help you get more specific and accurate information. Good luck

You can get pregnant, but the chance of getting pregnant is less than a woman who does not have Thyroid problems.
I know a woman with hyperactive thyroid and she has two kids after she was diagnosed. Don't give up.

No, it's not true that a thyroid disorder prevents women from getting pregnant. I suggest you do a good ol' google search for "thyroid disorders". You don't specify whether she has a hyper or hypo-active thyroid, but you should when you do your search. Good luck!
