question about husband and his preference(no Jerks Plz)?

my husband has decided he wants to transform to a woman including the sexual reassignment surgery, he says that he likes woman sexually although he wants me to preform as a man. Does this make him gay? I am confused and information would be appreciate

I would guess he is a closet homosexual and feels he has been the wrong sex all of his life, thus he is regretting everything he did.

He wants to be on the receiving end of sex (you acting as the man). I'm sorry, but, in my book, this is not normal, It is different, but not normal. I think with him approaching it this way, he's trying to keep the family/marriage together without admitting he has already experienced gay encounters. He may be trying to hide the past encounters

Tough situation. Think it through carefully. This may be a life-changing decsion you have to experience.

Honey you need to get away from him until he's had a psychiatric evaluation.

Speaking as a gay male with many transgendered friends I only say that with love. No one who is just dealing with gender issues is going to suggest that their partner have reassignment surgery.

It sound to me like he may be trying to get out of your relationship and has chosen a really twisted way to make you leave.

If he had really put any thought into this or done any research he would know that in the United States you have to go through years of counseling and actually living as the other sex before any Dr is going to even think about doing the surgery.

Again (and I know its a hard thing to do) I suggest you take some time away from him, and make sure both of you have thought out any decisions your going to make.

In my opinion, he is only gay if he wants you to actually BE a man, not just perform like one. But labels and categories will do little to help you here in a practical sense.

If he wants you to actually be a man and is asking you to consider sexual reassignment surgery for YOURSELF in addition to having sexual reassignment for himself, then I would say this is pretty strong evidence that he likes men, despite his statements to the contrary. Whether this makes him gay, bisexual, or transgendered is a question that only a psychologist can answer, since no one here knows your husband in enough detail to give a definitive answer to that part of this. If your husband is solidly committed to this (both his sexual reassignment and yours), then you should consider couples counseling with a counselor who is qualified in dealing with LGBT issues.

I believe that you may want to think twice about changing yourself. It sounds like you are a whole lot happier being yourself than your husband is. I understand doing things out of love but I think this is carrying it a little bit too far, in fact, a whole lot too far. If he likes women sexually but wants you to perform as a man, is he saying he does not like you as a women? I think he needs to think this thru a whole lot more before either of you do anything.
