I have signed up to do my first 10k run. (I must be mad!) I am reasonably fit as I excerside quite regularly but I have never done any running previously, so I know I need to take it slow. I have invested in some good running shoes and socks from a proper running shop rather than a sports store. A few nights ago while out on a 20minute jog I started to get pins and needles in my left foot which I assumed was because my laces where too tight. This mild pins and needles sensation has not gone away and It's been two days! I am in no pain, it's just a bit irritating. Any ideas why this has happened and what I can do to get rid of it?

Being a distance runner on a day to day basis i know, it is very important to go with shoes that are right for you, not just shoes that are expensive and nice. Make sure they ft. Lastly you may need orthopedics in order to correct your footing, you may be running with a pro-nation which would place the pressures of your foot in the wrong places. The best is to wait and see, if you get better you may want to find a shoe that is more fit to your foot. Make sure to get the width of your foot not just the length. And if all else fails you may wish to visit a foot doctor

It could be the shoes. It could be the novelty of running as well. Sometimes, when you first begin running it takes time for your body to adjust. It is the same with shoes. Short of having a shoe bulit specifically for your foot, there will be some break-in period. Try loosening the laces and, if they are the type, alternate lacing patterns. Some shoes have extra eyelets that are too close to the ankle for some runners. If the tingling becomes painful, consult a podiatrist or sports trainer. It sounds though like your feet are just adjusting to both the running and the shoes.

Pins and needles ensue even as that area f the body isn't getting adequate blood, in case you experience its happening throughout do superstar jumps, get the blood operating about and it is going to provide up it, if it would not you want to work out the record.

I sounds like you have pinched a nerve. I get it once in a while if I try to do things I haven't done in a while like run get a doctor chriopractor to crack your shoulder and shoulder on tht side of your body where the oins and needles are and you will feel a cool sinsation. when the presser is released.
