much depends on how you define thinking... animals have dreams, memories and they all do have some amount of intellect... they are aware of certain things... but not conscious of it! i guess that's the difference

Yes animals think like humans do. If they didn't you wouldn't see programs on National Geographic and so on of bull elephants in India to actually contemplate and go to a village and to kill the people of that village not because they are doing it because they are meat eaters but because they are doing it out of revenge for us killing them, or how if a mother elephant has a baby she will stay there for days until she gets that the baby is dead and she will morn her lost young, elephants do it monkeys, dolphins, and lots of other animals. A dog if it had grown up with another dog in the family had passed away and they were close that sometimes the dog will die from heart ache from missing its friend.Revenge, sadness, happiness,to morn, to remember, to even speak it may not be our "language" but an animal doesn't make the particular sound that it does just to make a sound they are "talking".

Good question..
Yes!!! I think animals think in a certain level, but not like the human being. Mostly animals are going with the Nature and Nature's commands. Example, animals know how to escape from the water, fire or some disasters. No one is teaching animals, how to swim? (Swimming lessions for Dummies :-) ), naturally they know how to swim. Like human, each animal type has its own life style, characters and capacity. but all of them have a common type of sense. We think that animals cannot talk, but I think they can talk and strore the events in memories. They can only follow the nature.I heard that every creature has its own energy circle and vibrations. In order to attain/sense it ,meditation could help.

no other living organisms can think like us
this is the reason for what they call humans as god's petest
if any animal or all animals would think like us then what would be the difference?

oh yes, they think. just not like humans. in fact, i know a lot of humans that are not nearly as smart as animals.( just take a look around, you'll probably come to the same realization) they follow their instincts, while humans are taught to conform to society from an extremely early age, not allowing our instincts to develop as well. here's a thought, have you ever had an instinct about something, not followed it, and it turned out that you should have? i would have to agree with everyone answers that are before mine.

Animals such as dogs and cats certainly feel love and shame and anger, get frustrated etc. Emotions indicate an ability to react to a situation. So I would say yes, they do think, although they do not have the ability to put separate thoughts together to form a cognitive process. Otherwise they would learn to use tools, etc

Of coarse they do. They sit, stay, come. They wonder when someone is going to come home. When they are going to eat. My dog barks when it wants to go out, eat, or play. Look at Little Joe Young. He is thinking about how he is going to escape and about getting to the wild. Animals most likely think. Now a tree, that is another story.

not sure if exactly like humans. but my cat is smart. she knows how to get out of stuff when im mad at her. and when i bring out the collar and leash she runs for under the bed. also, i just have to use a tone of voice or look with her when she is doing something bad and she will stop and walk away.

Yes....all
As they all take birth, grow's ,eat,sexualize,die...
do all activities like us.
Even speaks up too.
But we cant understand their language.
But their is still one thing that can set relationship betwen human & animals and i.e LOVE.Only then you realize how common they are like us.
But we still cant compare and cant deny the Truth "MAN MADE MARVELLOUS"..
