No, but I don't think we really have to worry about that. No way he'll get the nomination. It will probably be Hillary or Barak "Osama" Obama (his real middle name, btw), and I will not be voting for either of them.

It depends on whether you'd like to have a John Grisham legal thriller take place in the White House starting in 2009. Edwards is a bright & articulate guy, but he did not exactly build a world-beating record while in the Senate.
He also appears to be in the thrall of the labor unions and other economic flat-earthers when it comes to trade issues, which are enormously important for political as well as economic reasons. Just how much of a threat is posed to the US by the economic colossi of Central America?
Most important, his political record is almost as unimpressive as the current President's: one somnambulant term in the Senate and two runs for the White House. He's got no hands-on experience in either retail politics (unlike, say, Obama as a community organizer & Illinois state senator) or the world stage.
That said, Edward's smarminess may be just the ticket with the American electorate.

I could truly care less about his new home, and feel that it has nothing to do with whether or not he would make a good president. Bush has alot more personal money than Edwards...and his properties far surpass anything that Edwards could dream of...
But as a man, I find him to be cut from the same cloth as Bush. He is smarmy and sarcastic. And while that should certainly not be a deciding factor, I think it goes a long way to discredit the office...one that should inspire respect around the world. I don't think that John Edwards is a man who would garner respect on the world's stage...and America is in desperate need of that right now...

I don't think so. I think you nailed it on the head with the multi-million dollar mansion, the man has a vanity issue. I remember when he and Kerry were running and he had a beach photo taken of his children and himself. I thought "sweet Christ"!!! It was a replica of JFK (someone we will never be). As far as politics, he is suave and intelligent, but he is like a weasel. Plus, he lacks experience.

I think he is an intelligent man, being attacked by the repuglican hate machine, would he make a good president I am not sure. As for missing votes, Bush has missed the boat since 2000 and still don't get it, how can a war time president take so much time for vacations, and campaigning, should he not be on the job 24/7 to do the job that he was appointed for.

Which was why he only lasted one term. That is the biggest indicator right there that he is not the man for the job. I trust the people of North Carolina more than I trust him.

He sure would be better than our present president. I also would vote for him before I did for Hillary.
And who among us would not have a house like his if we could?
And did you ever see a lawyer living in a double wide? What would the people think of him then. Not that there is anyting with wrong with double wides. Plenty of fine people live in one.

"He made a fortune suing folks"
You mean he was a lawyer who was paid to do his job of fighting for the legal rights of those who hired him.
"just built a milti-million dollar mansion in North Carolina"
OH MY GOD......he built his own house.
I thought his problem was he was too dull.

Edwards a 'good' president? Surely you jest. A nice smile does not make up for poor performance and terrible work ethic. His work ethic is politicing and filling his own coffers further.
