As the other lady said, the pain is forgotten really fast. For me, the pre-labour pains were like really bad period pains, but once my waters broke I was in a world of pain. It's hard to describe, because although I remember that I was in pain, terrible pain, once it's over it really doesn't matter anymore.

Your body provides you with oxcytocin which makes you feel really happy and giddy with love - even for the evil midwives - so that you'll bond with your baby and forget the pain so you can have more babies!!

Your body is basically designed to do this, so it recovers really fast. The day I gave birth I felt like 'never again,' but by the next day I was ready to think about when we'd have another baby. My partner - having been there and seen the pain I was in - needed a little longer to recover!!

My water broke before i got to the hospital and to me the contractions were more painful than the labor it felt like a really bad stomach ache or period,as far as the labor pains that all depends on if you go natural ( no drugs) or if you get an epideral.I had an epideral, some perople say it will wear off and you'll still be able to feel some pain, but i had mine given to me at 4cm and i was not in any pain, i felt pressure which i described as having to go to the bathroom(#2),but it did not hurt, when i felt that the nurse told me it was time to push and since i couldn't feel anything my nurse was telling me when a contraction was coming and when i should push.Every woman is different so i guess it just depends on the person.I myslef thought i would be a screamer and cryer, but i just closed eyes and pushed and in 18 mintues my son was out.

to me contractions felt like charlie horses (muscle spasms) , I thought I would go natural both times I gave birth, but I went with the epidural. Just remember that the pain will be worth it when you see your baby, the memorys I have of labor are all good because the prize at the end was definitely worth it!!

It is very hard to explain. It is like a very bad period cramp as far as the contractions. Very intense! As far as giving birth I would feel better while I was pushing but it feels like someone is prying you open. But the contractions for me was the worse part. It was all worth it once my babies were out
