Computer age does not diminish nostalgia. It is associated with basic human instinct. In modern times nostalgia may not be acutely felt because we are able to communicate faster.
Nostalgia reflects human sentimentality. It varies from person to person.
Feeling for something tender, something that happened in the past and something that one would like to visit in imagination, all this is human trait.
Nostalgia at times may be harmful. If one is obsessed with the past and some happenings that have paled into insignificance as far as the present life is concerned, then nostalgia will come in the way of success and happiness.

Nostalgia, in any time, is simply a longing for the past. As we age we tend to look on the past as an idyllic time..one free from worry, free from stress. I don't think its particular to any given time frame, it just is.
It reflects our need to live a simpler, less involved life. While Technology grows, our lives become more, not less, complicated. The pace of our lives increases, each and every day. Nostalgia is a way of looking back to when our only worry was what to wear, in a manner of speaking.
As far as youth, nostalgia does not reflect anything on youth. It is, as far as I have experienced, exasperating for the young to hear the older generations talk about "in my day..."...LOL...even I am guilty of doing that to my kids..."when I was your age..."
